The invention involves thrombolytically effective compositions and therapeutic methods. Thrombolytically active proteins are combined with anticoagulants, as long as the anticoagulant is not heparin. The anticoagulant is administered in an intravenous bolus form, while the thrombolytically active protein may be administered via intravenous bolus, or intravenous infusion.
