A method for multiplexed detection and quantification of analytes by reacting them with probe molecules attached to specific and identifiable carriers. These carriers can be of different size, shape, color, and composition. Different probe molecules are attached to different types of carriers prior to analysis. After the reaction takes place, the carriers can be automatically analyzed. This invention obviates cumbersome instruments used for the deposition of probe molecules in geometrically defined arrays. In the present invention the analytes are identified by their association with the defined carrier, and not (or not only) by their position. Moreover, the use of carriers provides a more homogeneous and reproducible representation for probe molecules and reaction products than two-dimensional imprinted arrays or DNA chips.

Ce procédé de détection et quantification multiplexée d'analytes consiste à faire réagir ceux-ci avec des molécules sondes attachées à des supports spécifiques et identifiables. Ces supports peuvent être de différente taille, forme, couleur et composition. On attache différentes molécules sondes à différents types de supports, avant analyse. Après réaction, les supports peuvent être automatiquement analysés. L'invention supprime l'utilisation d'instruments encombrants employés pour le dépôt de molécules sondes dans des jeux ordonnés de manière géométrique. Dans l'invention, les analytes sont identifiée grâce à leur association avec le support défini, et non pas (ou non pas seulement) grâce à leur position. En outre, l'emploi de supports permet une représentation plus homogène et reproductible des molécules sondes et produits de réaction que des jeux ordonnés bidimensionnels de microdépôts ou des puces d'ADN.
