A convectively-cooled hydraulic fluid tank system comprises a hydraulic fluid tank and a fluid cooler incorporated into the hydraulic fluid tank. The fluid cooler includes a vortex chamber(24) having a wall (18) made of a heat conductive material. An inlet (40) is provided to direct incoming pressurized hydraulic fluid tangentially onto the inner surface of the vortex chamber wall (42) to create a swirled flow of hydraulic fluid against the inner surface of the wall. A cooling structure extends from an exterior surface of the vortex chamber wall to promote heat dissipation
L'invention concerne un système réservoir de fluide hydraulique refroidi par convection, qui comprend un réservoir de fluide hydraulique et un refroidisseur de fluide intégré à ce réservoir. Le refroidisseur comprend une chambre à vortex (24) présentant une paroi (18) faite d'un matériau conducteur thermique. Un orifice d'entrée (40) sert à diriger sur la surface intérieure de la paroi (42) de chambre à vortex le fluide hydraulique entrant sous pression de manière tangentielle afin de produire un écoulement tourbillonnant de fluide hydraulique contre la surface intérieure de la paroi. Une structure de refroidissement s'étend à partir d'une surface extérieure de la paroi de la chambre à vortex pour faciliter la dissipation de chaleur.
