A mechanical grain auger is powered by a mechanical drive system, that is in turn powered by a mechanical PTO shaft. A hydraulic pump is mounted to the elevating grain auger and is coupled by sprockets and a drive chain to the input of the mechanical drive system such that PTO shaft rotation both drives the mechanical grain auger and drives the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic pump is included in a hydraulic circuit mounted on the mechanical grain auger. This hydraulic circuit can be connected to a hydraulic motor of a second, hydraulically powered grain auger. In this way, a single, mechanical PTO shaft connection can be used to drive both the mechanical grain auger and the hydraulic grain auger.
