An elastomeric seal ring (22) is interposed between metallic seal rings (20,24) having lips (36,38,40,42). The elastomeric ring is thicker (48) than the metal rings. The lips are of specific configuration, and the seat is supported (28) to permit downward movement of the upper seal ring (20) after compression setting.
