APD-based PET modules are provided for use in combined PET/MR imaging. Each module includes a number of independent, optically isolated detectors. Each detector includes an array of scintillator (e.g LSO) crystals read out by an array of APDs. The modules are positioned in the tunnel of a MR scanner. Simultaneous, artifact-free images can be acquired with the APD-based PET and MR system resulting in a high-resolution and cost-effective integrated PET/MR system
L'invention concerne des modules de tomographie à émission de positrons (TEP) basés sur des photodiodes à avalanche (ADP) utilisés dans un système d'imagerie par tomographie à émission de positrons/résonance magnétique combinés (TEP/IRM). Chaque module comprend un nombre de détecteurs optiquement isolés. Chaque détecteur comprend un réseau de cristaux de scintillateur (par exemple, LSO) lus par un réseau de photodiodes à avalanche. Lesdits modules sont positionnés dans le tunnel d'un dispositif de balayage IRM. On peut acquérir simultanément des images sans artefact à l'aide du TEP basé sur des ADP et d'un système IRM résultant dans un système TEP/IRM intégré à résolution élevée et peu coûteux.
