A digitizer com-bining functions of stereovision, color 3D digitizing and motion capture of a target object. The digitizer has a base supporting two cameras and two projection arrangements with projectors, one of which is provided with a grating element for projection of an encoded pattern on a surface of the target object and used for an active 3D range sensing, the other being used for an acquisition of texture information of the target object. The cameras and the light projectors are angled with respect to each other and arranged so that they have optical axes converging through a single point. A computer operates the projectors and processes the video signals generated by the cameras according to the selected function.
L'invention concerne un numériseur doté de fonctions de stéréovision, de numérisation tridimensionnelle couleur et de capture de mouvement d'un objet cible. Le numériseur possède une base munie de deux caméras et de deux assemblages de projections dotés de projecteurs. L'un de ces deux assemblages présente un élément de réseau permettant la projection d'un motif codé sur une surface de l'objet cible et servant également à détecter activement une gamme tridimensionnelle, le second assemblage servant à acquérir les informations de texture de l'objet cible. Les caméras et les projecteurs de lumière sont disposés de manière à former un angle l'un par rapport à l'autre et à présenter des axes optiques convergeant via un point unique. Un ordinateur fait fonctionner les projecteurs et traite les signaux vidéo générés par les caméras conformément à la fonction sélectionnée.
