Abstract The invention relates to a titration device which can be operated both volumetrically or coulometrically. The device includes a base unit which has a control and activation mechanism for volumetric measurement of reagents. When used for volumetric titration, a removable dosage unit is attached to the base unit, which has mechanical coupling elements to connect to the activating mechanism and, when used for coulometric titration, instead of or in addition to the volumetric dosage unit a coulometric titration cell is provided which can be attached or connected directly or by means of an adaptor and uses the same control mechanism as the volumetric unit.
