COMBINED TRANSURANIC-STRONTIUM EXTRACTION PROCESS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The transuranic (TRU) elements neptunium, plutonium and americium can be separated together with strontium from nitric acid waste solutions in a single process. An extractant solution of a crown ether and an alkyl(phenyl)-N.N-dialkylcarbanylmethylphosphine oxide in an appropriate diluent will extract the TRU'S to gather with strontium, uranium and technetium. The TRU's and the strontium can then be selectively stripped from the extractant for disposal.
