The present invention relates to compositions and methods for treating the epithelial toxicity caused by administering to a human cancer patient an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor. The pharmaceutical composition preferably com-prises an EGFR inhibitor and a keratinocyte growth factor (KGF) in a pharmaceutically- acceptable carrier. The method of treatment comprises co-administering to the patient a therapeutically effective amount of KGF with the EGFR inhibitor.

La présente invention concerne des compositions et des méthodes de traitement de la toxicité épithéliale engendrée par administration d'un inhibiteur du récepteur du facteur de croissance épidermique (EGFR) à un patient humain atteint de cancer. La composition pharmaceutique de l'invention comprend de préférence un inhibiteur du récepteur EGFR ainsi qu'un facteur de croissance des kératinocytes (KGF) dans un excipient pharmaceutiquement acceptable. Cette méthode de traitement consiste à coadministrer à ce patient une dose thérapeutiquement efficace de KGF avec l'inhibiteur du récepteur EGFR.
