A mechanical inexsuf f lation device (10) employs a ventilator (20) for generating airflow under positive pressure, a first airflow channel (23) connected to the ventilator, a first gate (29) operative to selectively open or obstruct airflow through the first airflow channel, and a source of negative pressure airflow (30). The source of negative pressure gas flow may generate negative pressure simultaneously with the generation of airflow under positive pressure by the ventilator. A second gas flow channel (33) connected to the source of negative pressure gas includes a second gate (39) that may selectively open or obstruct gas flow through the second gas flow channel. A control unit (51) operates to open or close the first and second gates in a mutually reciprocal and opposite manner. A patient interface unit (40) conducts airflow to and from a patient' s lungs according to the settings of the gates.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif d'insufflation-exsufflation mécanique qui comprend un ventilateur générant une circulation d'air sous pression positive, un premier canal de circulation d'air connecté au ventilateur, un premier obturateur permettant l'ouverture/l'obstruction sélective de la circulation d'air dans le premier canal de circulation d'air et une source de circulation d'air sous pression négative. La source de circulation de gaz sous pression négative peut générer une pression négative simultanément avec la circulation d'air sous pression positive générée par le ventilateur. Un second canal de circulation de gaz connecté à la source de gaz sous pression négative comprend un second obstructeur permettant l'ouverture/l'obstruction sélective de la circulation de gaz à travers le second canal de circulation de gaz.
