ABSTRACT This invention relates to a briquette produced by com- bining sawdust and a carbonaceous material such as coal, coke, charcoalor coalchar in a ratio of 1:1 to 1:6 and pressing the mixture at a pressure in excess of 150MPa and at a temperature of between 120°C and 285°C without the use of a binder. The moisture content determines the time required for the pressing operation and is preferably within the range of 10% to 14% by weight.
