A combustion cage (10) is provided for burning wood pellet or other solid biomass fuel cleanly and efficiently in a wood stove. The combustion cage (10) has at least one side wall (22) and a bottom (24), each having a plurality of holes (28) throughout with a hole-to-solid surface ratio of at least 40 %. Support means (30 and 32) removably attached to the bottom (24) elevates the bottom to allow combustion air flow to enter through the bottom (24). The bottom (24) preferably has an angle of inclination in the range of 12 to 30 degrees allowing the igniting flames to follow a path along the entire bottom (24) for starting the wood pellet or other solid biomass fuel burning. The shape of the combustion cage may be rectangular, cubic, trapezoidal, circular, ellipsoid, or oval and capable of optimally holding between 4 lbs to 40 lbs (1.81 - 18.1 kg) of fuel.

L'invention concerne une cage de combustion (10) destinée à brûler avec propreté et efficacité des granulats de bois ou d'autres biocombustibles solides dans une poêle à bois.
