A combustion chamber (15) featuring an orifice plate (130) which promotes complete, clean, and consistent combustion of the propellant charge used in a powder actuated tool (100). The combustion chamber (15) allows extended operation of a power adjustment means which has improved energy variance, a higher range of power adjustment, and complete clean combustion at any power level. A novel means of power adjustment is presented.

L'invention se rapporte à une chambre de combustion (15) caractérisée par une plaque à lumière (130) qui permet une combustion complète, propre et consistante d'une charge propulsive utilisée dans un instrument (100) actionné par explosion. Ladite chambre de combustion (15) permet le fonctionnement étendu d'un organe de réglage de la puissance qui possède une capacité améliorée de variation d'énergie et un domaine plus étendu de réglage de la puissance et qui permet une combustion propre et complète pour tout niveau de puissance. L'invention se rapporte également à un nouvel organe de réglage de la puissance.
