ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A combustion device includes a fuel-air ratio controller. control is coupled to receive a first signal functionally related to the status of the fuel-air controller and a second signal from an oxygen sensor which is functionally related to the oxygen in the discharge gases from the combustion zone. The control is operative to provide an output signal to a fuel regulator for adjust- ing the fuel delivered to the combustion zone in relation to the oxygen in the discharge gases.
