ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention discloses a method of combusting low B.T.U., high moisture content fuels wherein the fuels are introduced into a furnace and dried, pyrolyzed and burned therein thereby generating recoverable heat. The method comprises enriching the process air with which the process products are burned with oxygen in an amount sufficient to increase the rate of reaction of the fuel through oxygen concentration effect and to increase the temperature of combustion to effect an increase in the reaction rate of the fuel and drying rate, the temperature of combustion whereby the rate at which the fuel being combusted may be increased.
