A coated product having an improved coating appearance and a method for improving the appearance of a coated product is achieved when a food- acceptable, poorly water-soluble salt is added to a coating syrup that further comprises a primary coating material. One preferred inventive coating comprises calcium gluconate as the poorly water-soluble salt, and xylitol as the primary coating material.

L'invention concerne un produit enrobé présentant un enrobage d'aspect amélioré, ainsi qu'un procédé permettant d'améliorer l'aspect d'un produit enrobé grâce à l'addition d'un sel acceptable sur le plan alimentaire et faiblement hydrosoluble à un sirop d'enrobage qui renferme en outre une matière d'enrobage primaire. Un enrobage préféré selon la présente invention renferme du gluconate de calcium en tant que sel faiblement hydrosoluble et du xylitol en tant que matière d'enrobage primaire.
