In the present invention, the implementation of a protocol that embeds packets is made sensitive to the type of data being embedde, so that adjustable parameters can be set automatically at the layer providing the parameters being adjusted in accordance with the packets being embedded. Thus it is taken into account that the data in packets being received from a higher layer in order to be encapsulated or segmented and sent further (either directly into the link or on to lower layer), may be classified into different categories with respect to the adjustable parameters, where the parameters can automatically be adjusted for an individual packet in accordance with the category into which is classified.
La présente invention permet de rendre la mise en application d'un protocole contenant des paquets sensible au type de données contenues, de manière à pouvoir définir automatiquement des paramètres adaptables au niveau de la couche fournissant les paramètres adaptés en fonction des paquets contenus. Ledit procédé tient donc compte du fait que les données des paquets reçus d'une couche plus élevée en vue de leur encapsulation ou de leur segmentation, et de leur envoi ultérieur (soit directement sur la liaison, soit dans une couche inférieure) peuvent être classées en différentes catégories en fonction des paramètres adaptables, lesdits paramètres pouvant être automatiquement définis pour chacun des paquets, selon la catégorie à laquelle ils appartiennent.
