A communication protocol for a two-way transmission system having at least one first transmitter/receiver device (20), at least one second transmitter/receiver device (50) and at least one repeater (40) for relaying signals between the first and second devices. The protocol includes the steps of transmitting a first signal comprising a command from the first device, repeating the "first signal with each repeater in a respective repeater time slot, receiving the first signal at the second device, transmitting status information from each second device in a respective status time slot, forming a status bit map comprising all status information in the at least one repeater, and transmitting the status bit map with the repeater so that the at least one first device has received the status bit map. Preferably, the transmission system comprises an R.F. communication system. If a plurality of repeaters are employed, the repeaters repeat the transmitted signals in a defined repeater sequence. The repeaters build a bit map of all status information received by the respective repeaters during the repeater sequence. In this way, it is assured that all first and second devices receive those signals intended for the respective devices.
L'invention porte sur un protocole de télécommunications pour liaisons bidirectionnelles comportant au moins un premier émetteur/récepteur (20), au moins un deuxième émetteur/récepteur (50), et au moins un répéteur (40) relayant les signaux entre le premier et le deuxième dispositif. Ledit protocole consiste à émettre un premier signal transmettant des instructions provenant du premier dispositif; à répéter le premier signal dans chacun des répéteurs dans leurs créneaux respectifs de répétition; à recevoir le premier signal dans un second dispositif; à émettre des informations d'état depuis chacun des seconds dispositifs dans leurs créneaux respectifs d'états, à constituer une représentation graphique des états en mode point comportant toutes les informations d'état dans au moins l'un des répéteurs, et à émettre la représentation graphique des états en mode point à l'aide du répéteur pour que le premier des dispositifs au moins la reçoive. Les émissions se font de préférence en HF. Si plusieurs répéteurs sont utilisés, chacun d'eux répète le signal dans une séquence de répétition définie. Les répéteurs constituent une représentation graphique en mode point de toutes les informations d'état reçues par les différents répéteurs pendant la séquence de répétition. De cette façon, tous les premier et second dispositifs ont l'assurance de recevoir les signaux leur étant respectivement destinés.
