A communication terminal comprising a communication unit for receiving messages and type information of said messages from a station is provided. The communication terminal has a display unit along with control means which display messages received by the communication unit. The messages are displayed in list form in the display unit. The control means also displays a cursor which makes a selection from the messages displayed in list form having different patterns. The control means associates the patterns of the cursor with message types.
