A tape carrier package is used as a controller for controlling a liquid crystal display panel, and the liquid crystal display panel and the tape carrier package are connected to each other with use of a heat seal. The liquid crystal display panel is stack to one face of a liquid crystal display panel substrate via spacer, on the other hand, the tape carrier package is stack to the other face thereof, and then, the liquid crystal display panel substrate is attached to a main circuit board by means of a retaining member, thereby the liquid crystal display panel being attached to a display window of a telephone housing. Therefore, a structure around the liquid crystal display panel is simplified, so that the number of components can be reduced, and also an assembling work can be readily performed.
