When a primary modulation/demodulation method used by existing power line modems connected to the same power line is changed, a concept of a virtual master is adopted. Specifically, if a power line modem among multiple power line modems connected to a power line (7) judges that the communication quality is difficult to ensure by the current primary modulation method, the power line modem serves as a virtual master in a primary modulation change processing. The virtual master sends a change request command presenting the next primary modulation method to the other power line modems. If a change reject command is not replied from any of the other power line modems having received the change request command, the primary modulation method currently used by the power line modem serving as the virtual master is changed to the next primary modulation method and a change instruction command is sent to the other power line modems. Lastly, the other power lines having received the change instruction command change the current primary modulation method to the specified primary modulation method.
En cas de changement de procédé de modulation/démodulation primaire utilisé par des modems pour ligne électrique connectés à la même ligne, un concept de maître virtuel est adopté. Plus précisément, si l'un des modems connectés à une ligne (7) estime que la qualité de la communication est difficilement assurée par le procédé de modulation primaire actuel, le modem sert de maître virtuel dans une opération de changement de la modulation primaire. Le maître virtuel envoie une commande de demande de changement proposant un autre procédé de modulation primaire aux autres modems. Si une commande de rejet de changement n'est pas envoyée en réponse par l'un des modems ayant reçu la commande de demande de changement, le procédé de modulation primaire actuellement utilisé par le modem servant de maître virtuel est remplacé par l'autre procédé de modulation primaire et une commande d'instruction de changement est envoyée aux autres modems. Enfin, les lignes ayant reçu la commande d'instruction de changement changent de procédé de modulation primaire, de façon à adopter le procédé de modulation primaire spécifié.
