Systems for connecting telecommunications infrastructure lines to telephones, handsets, computers, telecopy machines and other end user interfaces or consumer electronics devices in a residence or business. Systems according to the present invention include Network Control Units which form the center of a star topology and which communicate via RF link with Wireless Access Units and handsets. Wireless Access Units feature an interface, such as, for example, a standard telephone jack, for accommodating a telephone, a fax machine, a computer modem or other device. Computers or other devices may also be accommodated by Wireless Access Units having other physical and virtual interfaces, including, for instance, serial ports or network interfaces. The Wireless Access Units may also be digital to accommodate ISDN or any other digital standard. Wireless control/monitoring accessories may also be employed to communicate with the Network Control Unit and provide additional functionality such as entrance monitoring, baby monitoring, HVAC control and other services. Personal Communication Links provide wireless handset and speakerphone services. The Personal Communication Links inlcude independent talk/listen paths from the unit to the Network Control Unit. In addition, each Personal Communication Link includes circuitry for automatically adjusting from high-volume/high-microphone sensitivity for speakerphone operation to low- volume/low-microphone sensitivity for conventional handset operation.
La présente invention concerne des systèmes de connexion de lignes d'infrastructures de télécommunication aux téléphones, combinés, ordinateurs, télécopieurs et autres interfaces utilisateur terminales ou appareils électroniques grand public privés ou professionnels. Selon la présente invention, les systèmes comprennent des unités de commande de réseau formant le centre d'une structure en étoile et qui communiquent, via liaison RF, avec des unités d'accès sans fil et des combinés. Les unités d'accès sans fil comprennent des interfaces telles que, par exemple, une prise standard de téléphone destinée à prendre en charge un téléphone, un télécopieur, un modem d'ordinateur ou un autre appareil. Les ordinateurs ou autres appareils peuvent aussi être pris en charge par des unités d'accès sans fil qui présentent d'autres interfaces physiques ou virtuelles, comprenant par exemple des ports série ou des interfaces réseau. Ces unités d'accès sans fil peuvent en outre être numériques afin de prendre en charge le réseau RNIS ou tout autre standard numérique. Des accessoires de surveillance/commande sans fil peuvent aussi être utilisés pour communiquer avec l'unité de commande de réseau et offrir une fonctionnalité supplémentaire, telle que la surveillance d'entrée, la surveillance des bébés, la commande de la climatisation et d'autres services. Les liaisons de télécommunications personnelles comprennent des chemins d'écoute/parole indépendants, allant de l'appareil à l'unité de commande de réseau.
