A system for creating and dispensing cushioning dunnage is small and permits flexible installation configuration options for a single or multiple packing stations. A compact apparatus (1) of the system is capable of being pivotally mounted as a unit on a stand (2) and includes a motor (3) and a material feeding arrangement (4) driven by the motor (3) for pulling material from a supply roll (5) of the material supported on a stand (28) of the system, and feeding it through the apparatus (1). A plurality of material shaping members (9 and 11-14) upstream of the feeding arrangement shape the material in the apparatus to convert it into a continuous strip of cushioning product. The feeding arrangement (4) includes cooperating feed rollers & and 7), at least one of which is a rotary cutting die having a plurality of cutting blades (74) on its surface for cutting slits (87) in the material at spaced locations along the length of the material to allow an operator to manually rip a desired length of cushioning product from the material being dispensed from the apparatus.
Système permettant de créer et de distribuer un matériau de rembourrage et de calage, qui est petit et qui permet différentes configurations d'installation pour un seul poste d'emballage ou pour des postes multiples. Un appareil compact (1) pour la mise en oeuvre de ce système peut être monté pivotant en tant qu'unité sur un pied (2) et comporte un moteur (3) et un mécanisme d'alimentation (4) en matériau entraîné par le moteur (3) et destiné à tirer le matériau enroulé sur un rouleau d'alimentation (5) en matériau supporté par un pied (28) du système, et à introduire ce matériau dans l'appareil (1). Une pluralité d'éléments de façonnage (9 et 11-14) de matériau situés en amont du mécanisme d'alimentation façonnent le matériau dans l'appareil pour le convertir en une bande continue de produit de rembourrage. Le mécanisme d'alimentation (4) comporte des rouleaux d'alimentation (6 et 7) coopérant l'un avec l'autre, dont l'un au moins est une matrice de coupe rotative comprenant une pluralité de lames de coupe (74) sur sa surface pour couper des fentes (87) dans le matériau en des sites espacés le long dudit matériau, de manière à permettre à un opérateur de prélever manuellement une longueur désirée de produit de rembourrage à partir du matériau distribué par l'appareil.
