COMPACT FLUORESCENT LAMP ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A compact fluorescent lamp having a vacuum tube which is convoluted in shape, and having a wall loading between 600 and 900 W/m2. The inner surface of the tube is coated with a phosphor layer including a blue light- emitting phosphor, a green light-emitting phosphor and a red light-emitting phosphor. If the red light-emitting phosphor is at least 40 percent of the phosphor layer by weight, then the phosphor layer will be as resistant to ultraviolet radia- tion as a conventional straight tube.
