Abstract A reservoir system and metering apparatus for dispensing liquid under pressure at a regulated rate. The reservoir includes a resilient material walled container with sheet spring means which act on the walls of the container resiliently pressing them to reduce the internal container volume and to exhaust liquid from the container thereby. The sheet spring means is prestressed by initial preforming in relaxed condition and the sheets are then rolled together and secured at their edges to exert continuous pressure on the container. A hinged clip arrangement for the sheet springs is described as well as the initial preforming of the springs to a substantially semi-elliptical profile. In some instances the sheet springs adopt a planar form in the empty condition of the bag. In other instances the sheets are circular arcuate in that condition. Metering means for the reservoir is a capillary tube, a set of capillary tubes, a multiple orifice, a variable orifice including one with pressure regulating means, or a sequenced valve assembly which makes use of a metering chamber.
