The present invention relates to a compact stereoscopic imaging device, but whose compactness does not diminish its stereoscopic quality. The device of the invention is characterized in that the optical device comprises a telescope with single head having two optical pathways (A, B) ensuring stereoscopy, these two pathways having their optical axes dissociated so as to end up at two coplanar image planes. The deviation between the detection lines (8,10) is minimized so as to limit the overall size of the focal plane and the mass of the device. This device is particularly adapted to observation satellites for which the mass, overall size and reliability are critical parameters, in particular in relation to performance with regard to lifetime and agility. The addition of a focal length reducer to one of the two optical branches is a variant making it possible to carry out, with a single focal plane equipped with two or just one detection line, wide-field, narrow-field and stereoscopic missions.

Image La présente invention est relative à un dispositif d' imagerie stéréoscopigue compact, sans toutefois que sa compacité diminue ses qualités stéréoscopiques. Le dispositif de l'invention est caractérisé en ce que le dispositif optique comporte un télescope de tête unique avec deux voies (A, B) optiques assurant la stéréoscopie, ces deux voies ayant leurs axes optiques dissociés afin d'aboutir à deux plans images coplanaires. L'écart entre les lignes de détection (8,10) est minimisé pour limiter l'encombrement du plan focal et la masse du dispositif. Ce dispositif est particulièrement adapté aux satellites d'observation pour lesquels la masse, l'encombrement et la fiabilité sont des paramètres critiques, en particulier vis-à-vis des performances de durée de vie et d'agilité. L'adjonction d'un réducteur de focale sur une des deux branches optiques est une variante permettant de réaliser avec un seul plan focal équipé de deux ou une seule ligne de détection des missions champ large, champ étroit et stéréoscopique.
