A promotional closure (10) for use with an associated container includes a plastic closure cap having an inwardly recessed, circular top wall portion (12) defining a compartment (16) and a depending annular skirt portion (14) depending from the top wall portion. A circumferential lip formed in the closure cap generally at about a periphery (42) of the compartment, defines a circumferential channel-like recess (44) adjacent to the compartment. The closure further includes a removable, circular cover member (18) adapted to cover the compartment by insertion into the circumferential recess. The cover has a pair of circumferentially opposed tab-like, relesasable engaging members which are adapted to be reeived in the circumferential recess to retain the cover in place in the cap over the compartment. The engaging members are further adapted to release from the recess for removal of the cover member from the top wall portion when pressure is applied to the cap on the skirt portion adjacent to where the engaging members are positioned in the recess to thereby permit access to the compartment. Alternately, the cover includes a depending skirt-like seal support member which exerts an outward force on the top wall portion to urge the top wall portion into sealing engagement with an inside surface at the mouth of the container.

Les éléments de prise sont également adaptés pour se libérer de l'évidement afin de retirer l'élément de couvercle de la partie de paroi supérieure, lorsqu'on applique une pression au bouchon sur la partie de jupe adjacente à l'endroit où les éléments de prise sont positionnés dans l'évidement, afin de permettre ainsi l'accès au compartiment. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, le couvercle comprend un élément de support de joint d'étanchéité de type jupe dépendant, lequel exerce une force extérieure sur la partie de paroi supérieure afin de pousser la partie de paroi supérieure en contact d'étanchéité avec une surface intérieure, au niveau de l'embouchure du récipient.
