ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Paper, cotton cloth, wood, fiberboard, and other cellu- losic products are first treated with an organic base and then treated with a halosilane. This results in the formation of an amine-silane complex within the cellulose fibers as well as on the surface of the cellulosic product. This treatment imparts oil and water repellency, abhesive properties, and dimensional stability to cellulosic products.
