A vaso-occlusive device (400) includes a member that forms a series of at least four successive loops (402), each loop of the series having a different axis (404) than, and lying in a separate plane from, any other loop of the series. Each plane in which a loop lies forms an angle greater than 30 degrees with any immediately proceeding, and any immediately succeeding, plane.
