There is disclosed a complex and a combination of the glycosylated polypeptide fetuin and a therapeutically active small molecule compound having a net positive charge at physiological pH. The presence of fetuin as a drug complex or in combination with the therapeutically active small molecule compound enhances therapeutic activity of the small molecule compound. The present invention further provides a means for screening for therapeutically active small molecule compounds by means of binding to fetuin.

La présente invention concerne un complexe et une combinaison d'un polypeptide glycosylé dénommé fétuine et d'un composé à petites molécules thérapeutiquement actif possédant une charge positive à un pH physiologique. La présence de la fétuine comme complexe médicamenteux ou en combinaison avec le composé à petites molécules thérapeutiquement actif favorise l'activité thérapeutique du composé à petites molécules. La présente invention se rapporte en outre à un moyen permettant de cribler les composés à petites molécules thérapeutiquement actifs en les liant à la fétuine.
