A hearing aid instrument (10) of the in-the-ear type (and preferably CIC) provides a plate member (22) with electronic hearing aid components (25, 28, 38, 34, 35, 37) mounted thereto. The plate member (22) is preferably of a harder material such as hard plastic. A soft polymeric body (50) is bonded to the plate member (22), and encapsulates preferably a plurality of the electronic hearing aid components (25, 28, 38, 35, 37). The body (50) is soft and is shaped to conform to the ear canal of the user. The soft polymeric body (50), encapsulated electronic hearing aid components (25, 28, 38, 35, 37) define a soft structure compliant to the ear canal during use and that is substantially solid, free of void spaces between at least some of the components, and the ear canal. This combination of soft compliant structure, and encapsulated electronic hearing aid components addresses problems of peripheral leakage, poor fit, pivotal displacement that occurs with jaw motion, and internal cross talk of components housed in prior art hollow type hearing aids.
Un appareil (10) de prothèse auditive du type placé dans l'oreille (de préférence du type entièrement logé dans le canal) comprend une plaque (22) sur laquelle sont montés des composants électroniques (25, 28, 38, 34, 35, 37) de prothèse auditive. Le corps (50) souple en polymère et les composants électroniques (25, 28, 38, 35, 37) encapsulés de prothèse auditive constituent une structure souple qui se conforme au canal auditif en utilisation et qui est sensiblement solide et dépourvu d'espaces vides entre au moins certains composants et le canal auditif. La combinaison d'une structure souple s'adaptant à la forme et de composants électroniques de prothèse auditive encapsulés résout les problèmes de dispersion périphérique, de mauvaise tenue, de pivotement qui sont produits par les mouvements des mâchoires, et les perturbations de diaphonie interne des composants placés dans les prothèses auditives du type creux de l'art antérieur.
