ABSTRACT A drive mechanism for the assembly table of an electrical component insertion machine having a motor driven roller engaging the pheripheral edge of a disc on the table. A latch mechanism is located on the table for engaging a latch block on the table disc, the latch mechanism being releasable in response to a program control to permit the table disc to rotate and at the same time energize the motor driven roller to rotate the table disc. The disc can be rotated in either direction.
