ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to components for joining or term- inating optical fibers which are molded from a thermotropic liquid crystalline polymer having a linear coefficient of thermal expan- sion (LCTE) of from about -5 to 10 micrometer/meter-°C, over a temperature range of from about -50°C to about 85°C, and prefer- ably a linear coefficient of thermal expansion matching that of the optical fiber incorporated in the component.
