The invention describes a developable structural part (1) which contains at least one layer made from a resin-impregnated fabric (prepreg) (2; 4) and at least one layer made from wound threads (3), yarns (3), rovings (3) or ribbons (3), at least one constant thread tension, but preferably a thread tension increasing from layer to layer being applied during winding of the threads, yarns, rovings or ribbons (3) and the outer ply always consisting of wound threads, yarns, rovings or ribbons (3), and a process for its production. A developable structural part (1) can be obtained owing to the combination of the application of fabric prepreg layers (2; 4) and windings made from threads, yarns, rovings or ribbons (3), which structural part has particularly high strength and outstanding mechanical properties and also chemical resistance after curing of the resin matrix or after curing and carbonising or after curing, carbonising and graphitising. Such a structural part can preferably be used as a stay pipe or support roller, protective tube, heating pipe, thermal insulation cylinder or hot-press die.
