ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Mixtures of two compounds Z-11-hexadecen-1-ol acetate (A) and Z-9-tetradecen-1-ol acetate (B) exhibit high and species specific attractancy for the male Bertha Armyworm moth. The optimum attractant and specificity effect has been observed at proportions of about 95% A and 5% B. A dose of about 0.1 to 10 mg of the attractant per insect trap has been found effective. Neither A nor B alone are good attractants for the Bertha moth, although A alone has slight attractancy.
