ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A composite body comprising cemented carbide bonded with an essentially graphic cast iron alloy is disclosed. The alloy has a carbon equivalent of between 2.5 and 6Ø The composite body has been found to have improved wear resistance as well as good toughness and mechanical strength. The material is useful for wear elements in machine parts as well as for inserts for drilling or chip forming machines.
