A structural insulated panel having a core (40) of expanded polystyrene sandwiched between, and bonded to, two facings (52). The facings are attached to faces of the core formed by moulding. Preferably the core is an expanded polymer moulding and the preferred polymer is polystyrene. The panel is useful as a building component.

La présente invention concerne un panneau structurel isolé ayant une couche centrale (40) en polystyrène expansé, prise en sandwich entre, et liée à deux couches de revêtement (52). Les couches de revêtement sont fixées aux faces de la couche centrale formées par moulage. De préférence, la couche centrale est un moulage polymère expansé, le polymère préféré étant le polystyrène.
