Abstract A composite cellular sandwich structure. The structure comprises a cellular core with at least one thermoplastic composite layer disposed adjacent to a side of the core and heat bonded thereto. To facilitate bonding, a film of ther- moplastic may be disposed between the composite layer and the core. Preferably, the thermoplastic material in both the composite layer and the film is a polyarylene sulfide, such as polyphenylene sulfide. No secondary adhesive is required in the bonding process. A method of substantially continuously producing the composite cellular sandwich structure is also disclosed.
