A composite is made from a liquid impermeable surface treated non-woven polypropylene fiber fabric and a surface treated polypropylene mesh adhered together with a thermosetting resin system. The thermosetting resin system has a surface tension at least dynes/cm at 20° C less than the surface energy of both the mesh and fabric. The fabric-mesh composite can be laid into molds or forms, or wrapped around a mandrel. Alternately the fabric-mesh composite can be laid into molds or forms, or wrapped around a mandrel and then wetted with an appropriate resin system. The object is then allowed to cure, either at ambient temperature or by force curing with the addition of heat.
