Il comporte des particules magnétiques en forme de plaquettes (5) dispersées dans un liant (6) diélectrique. Les plaquettes en céramique magnétique polycristalline sont orientées de manière à ce que leurs faces principales les soient sensiblement parallèles au champ magnétique. Application notamment aux noyaux d'inductances ou de transformateurs.
