A composite mailer and a method of forming same. The mailer has a front and a back panel interconnected together along the top, bottom and side edges thereof by glue edge portions to form an envelope. The side edges are glue bonded along an edge strip thereof. One of the top and bottom edges has a fold glue flap formed integral with one of the front and back panels and folded over and glued along an edge of the other of the front and back panels to form a reinforcing flap to provide increased rigidity to the envelope for handling thereof by automatic mail sorting machines. One or more information-carrying sheets are interposed between the front and back panels and each has a connecting end edge portion glued between a common edge portion of the front and back panels opposite the edge having the glue flap. The information-carrying sheets have their other edges spaced inwardly of the glue edge portions. A perforated line is provided below the connecting end edge portion to form a tear tab to detach the connecting end edge portions to provide access to the interior of the envelope while simultaneously detaching the information sheet from the connecting edge portion for their removal from inside the envelope. The information-carrying sheets are individual sheets and some of these sheets have folded sections.
