The invention concerns a lubricating metal coating, and a method for making same. The material constituting the coating is a composite material comprising a metal matrix wherein are distributed sheet talc particles, the metal matrix consisting of a metal selected among Fe, Co, Ni, Mn, Cr, Cu, W, Mo, Zn, Au, Ag, Pb, Sn or of an alloy of said metals, or of a metal-metalloid alloy. The coating is obtained by a method which consists in carrying out an electrodeposit using a solution of precursors of the metal matrix of the coating containing additionally suspended talc particles surface-modified by irreversible adsorption of a cellulose-derived compound by substituting all or part of the hydroxyl groups.

L'invention concerne un revêtement métallique lubrifiant, et un procédé pour son élaboration. Le matériau constituant le revêtement est un matériau composite comprenant une matrice métallique au sein de laquelle sont réparties des particules de talc en feuillets, la matrice métallique étant constituée par un métal choisi parmi Fe, Co, Ni, Mn, Cr, Cu, W, Mo, Zn, Au, Ag, Pb, Sn ou par un alliage de ces métaux, ou par un alliage métal-métalloïde. Le revêtement est obtenu par un procédé consistant à effectuer un dépôt électrolytique en utilisant une solution de précurseurs de la matrice métallique du revêtement qui contient en outre des particules de talc en suspension, modifiées en surface par adsorption irréversible d'un composé dérivé de cellulose par remplacement de tout ou partie des groupes hydroxyles.
