Composite material, and associated method of production, used for hydrogen storage with very high rates of absorption and desorption, comprising a metal hydride, as matrix, and an alloy of zirconium and nickel at a zirconium/nickel weight ratio between 20/80 and 60/40, as particles and/or secondary phases, said metal hydride being in the form of particles of micrometric size and said alloy in the form of particles and/or as secondary phases with nanometric and/or micrometric dimensions.

L'invention concerne un matériau composite et un procédé de production associé, utilisé pour le stockage d'hydrogène avec des taux très élevés d'absorption et de désorption, comprenant un hydrure métallique, en tant que matrice, et un alliage de zirconium et de nickel à un rapport pondéral zirconium/nickel entre 20/80 et 60/40, en tant que particules et/ou phases secondaires, ledit hydrure métallique étant sous la forme de particules de dimension micrométrique et ledit alliage sous la forme de particules et/ou en tant que phases secondaires avec des dimensions nanométriques et/ou micrométriques.
