COMPOSITE MATERIALS FOR THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE ABSTRACT A composite material for thermal energy storage comprising a solid state phase change material (12) selected from the group consisting of pentaerythritol, trimethylol ethane (pentsglycerine), neopentyl glycol, trimethylol propane, monoaminopentaerythritol, diamino-pentaerythritol and tris (hydroxymethyl) acetic acid, and mixtures thereof is disclosed. The solid state phase change material is in contact with at least one material selected from the group consisting of metals, carbon, siliceous, plastic, cellulose, natural fiber, artificial fiber, concrete, gypsum, porous rock, and mixtures thereof.
