ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A microwave oven cooking cavity comprising plastic walls having a perforate metal shield embedded therein. The oven cavity is adapted to accommodate a browner unit including a resistance heating element supported within the cavity by providing for the wall of the oven adjacent the heating element in the form of a reflective metal plate which is adapted to make good electrical contact with the embedded shield at the peripheral portions thereof. Several arrangements for obtaining good electrical contact are disclosed one of which is to provide the one-piece cavity with flanges which are punctured by barbs formed on the metal plate to make mechanical and electrical contact with the embedded shield.
