Abstract A pillow comprises a foam core which is surrounded by synthetic fibres. The foam core, typically polyurethane foam, has the same basic shape as the pillow. The synthetic fibres, typically polyester, are layered having approximately the same thickness all around. The hollow foam core has a smooth outside surface and a convoluted inside surface. A thin rectangular piece of foam at the centre of the foam core cavity prevents the two convoluted inside surfaces from interlocking when pressed together. The fibres and foam combination is typically held together and covered with a fabric pillow cover or ticking. This pillow construction combines softness and comfort with support, durability and prolonged maintenance of pillow height using non- allergenic materials.
