An end post for a rail joint assembly comprising: a top portion having a profile substantially identical to cross-sectional shapes of rail head sections of first and second rails of the rail joint assembly; a base; and a stem disposed between the top portion and the base; wherein one or more of the top portion, base and stem comprise a plurality of pieces of a first electrically in-sulating material disposed on or m a second electrically insulating material. The plurality of pieces are preferably spaced apart and may have a substantially disc-shape or a substantially cylindrical-shape, and are preferably made from a ceramic material such as zirconium dioxide, aluminum oxide or silicon nitride, where the second electrically insulating material comprises a polymeric material, such as polyurethane.

Cette invention concerne un profil isolant pour un joint de rail, comprenant : une partie supérieure ayant un profil sensiblement identique à la configuration en coupe transversale de sections de champignon de rail du premier et du second rail de l'ensemble de joint de rail ; une base ; et une tige disposée entre la partie supérieure et la base. Au moins un élément d'entre la partie supérieure, la base et la tige, comprend une pluralité de parties d'un premier matériau isolant électrique disposé sur un second matériau isolant électrique. Lesdites parties sont de préférence espacées et elles peuvent avoir une forme sensiblement en disque ou sensiblement cylindrique. Lesdites parties sont de préférence faites d'une matière céramique telle que le dioxyde de zirconium, l'oxyde d'aluminium, ou le nitrure de silicium. Ledit second matériau isolant électrique comprend une matière polymère telle que le polyuréthanne.
