A composite stator construction for a downhole drilling motor which provides improved sealing and distortion properties. The elastomer which maintains the sealing/pumping action of the motor is applied in a uniform thickness to a rigid metallic form. In the stator, the rigid former has the basic configuration of the stator and is mounted within the casing of the motor. In the rotor, the elastomer can be applied directly to a metallic rotor core. The basic geometry is provided by the metallic former thereby reduces distortion of the lobes under increased torsional forces.
Construction composite d'un stator destiné à un moteur de marteau fond de trou offrant de meilleures caractéristiques sur le plan de l'étanchéité et de la déformation. Une épaisseur uniforme de l'élastomère qui permet de maintenir l'étanchéité/ l'action de pompage du moteur est appliquée sur une forme métallique rigide. Dans le stator, la forme rigide a la configuration fondamentale du stator et est montée dans le boîtier du moteur. Dans le rotor, l'élastomère peut être appliqué directement sur la carcasse métallique du rotor. La forme géométrique de base est fournie par la forme métallique, ce qui réduit de ce fait la déformation des arêtes du rotor soumises à des efforts de torsion plus grands.
