A composite tube (10) for use in such applications as an automobile heater hose has inner and outer tubes (11, 15). The inner tube (11) has a corrugated central section (12) and cylindrical end portions (14). The outer tube (11) is bonded to the end portions of the inner tube and to the crests of the corrugations. The composite tube (10) has spaced identical end couplings (22), each with a portion extending into and bonded to the associated inner tube (11) end portion, an end part (26) overlying and bonded to ends of the tube portions and an external flange (25) surrounding and bonded to the reinforcing tube end portion. The couplings include circumferentially spaced end reliefs (30) for facilitating connection of the coupling to a tube such as a fluid inlet to or outlet from an associated automobile radiator or the like. The composite tube (10) is continuously formed in a known manner while the end couplings are molded with a novel and improved mold and process.

Ce tube composite (10), qui est conçu pour être utilisé par exemple comme tuyau souple de radiateur d'automobile, comprend des tubes interne et externe (11, 15). Le tube interne (11) possède une section centrale cannelée (12) et des parties terminales cylindriques (14). Le tube externe (11) est collé aux parties terminales du tube interne et aux crêtes des cannelures. Ce tube composite (10) comporte des raccords terminaux identiques espacés (22), ayant chacun une partie s'étendant dans la partie terminale du tube interne associée (11) et collée à cette partie terminale. Une pièce terminale (26) chevauche les extrémités de ces parties du tube et elle est collée à ces extrémités, et une bride externe (25) entoure la partie terminale de renforcement du tube et elle est collée à cette partie. Les raccords présentent des reliefs terminaux espacés circonférentiellement (30), destinés à faciliter la liaison entre le raccord et un tube, pour qu'un fluide puisse entrer dans un radiateur d'automobile associé ou similaire ou sortir d'un tel radiateur ou similaire. Ce tube composite (10) est formé en continu selon un procédé connu, alors que les raccords terminaux sont moulés dans un moule et selon un procédé de conception nouvelle et améliorée.
